Building Wellness in Real Time
Balancing the 9–5 grind while growing a garden of wellness and community, one class at a time.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to balance a 9–5 while also growing a social wellness community. Honestly, this journey has been full of surprises—the best one being the people who keep showing up.
Every time I see familiar faces in my classes, my heart does a little flip. I can’t believe I have repeat clients. It’s more than just teaching a class—it’s creating moments of consistency, joy, and healing in people’s lives, and I feel honored to witness that growth and be a part of their journey.

Finding Pockets of Time
Balancing work, classes, and building Ty’s Garden means my days are stitched together with “pockets of time.” These pockets are where the real building happens—ordering new marketing and promotional materials from Moo (get 25% off here!), checking in with old partners, or sitting down with potential new ones to curate what’s next.
Trust me…It doesn’t always look effortless, but it feels purposeful. To be honest, some days I get overstimulated. What helps is planning out my days and staying organized. However, what truly motivates me is looking back on how far I’ve come in less than a year. These small, steady steps are what make the big events and community gatherings possible.
Gratitude & Growth
A few things that have brought me joy and what I am looking forward to:
Hosting Pages & Pilates and seeing new and familiar faces move together.
Partnering with incredible organizations like Women of Lyn that align with the mission of wellness, community, and growth.
Planted in Pilates: An all-levels mat class every 1st & 3rd Sunday at Cup of Sugar in Waldorf, MD ($25 drop-in or grab a 3-class pack for $70).
Private Pilates Experiences: Bookings are now open for birthdays, bridal showers, or wellness socials. I can bring the mat, the flow, and the energy to your celebration. Shoot us an email when you're ready! info@tysgarden.co 💌
A Little Wellness Tip 🌿
Since September is all about fresh focus, here’s what’s been working for me:
Create a “reset hour” for your evenings. For me, it’s my skincare regimen, taking a walk, and reading something educational rather than scrolling. It’s small, but it helps me shift from the grind into rest.
Partner Love & Gratitude 🫂
I want to close with shouting out the amazing brands + people who continue to show up for wellness and community here in the DMV:

So, as we move through September and settle into new routines, I’ll continue to think a lot about balance (hence Libra season 😉)—between work, passion projects, and self-care. Building Ty’s Garden while holding a 9–5 has shown me how small pockets of intentional time can make a big difference.
I’d love to hear from you: How are you balancing your routines, your passions, and your side hustles this season? Hit reply and share—I’m always inspired by how this community shows up for themselves and each other.
