Real Summer Vibes: Where Wellness Meets Intention
Things seem to be falling into place just right.
I’ve been thinking a lot about alignment lately.
Summer’s just now hitting its peak, but June brought a wave of confirmation for me. I’m a big believer that when you plant the right seeds in the right soil and water them with intention—they grow. On their own time, in their own way, and always right on time.
On June 22nd, something beautiful bloomed.
My first-ever Beauty & Wellness Summer Soirée brought women from across the DMV into a space that felt like a deep exhale. We connected through real conversations with a panel of women who are not only leading in their fields but doing it with heart and intention. I personally was able to resonate with each of them and it was a true reflection of what happens when we make space for ourselves and each other.
The panel, Beyond the Surface: Self-Care in Every Industry, explored how self-care really shows up—especially for professionals who are constantly giving to others. We heard honest stories, exchanged practical tools, and held space for what it looks like to protect your peace while building something meaningful.
Brigethia Arai (@brigethia | @wearecultureconvos) – Moderator & founder of Culture & Conversations, she led the dialogue with authenticity, grounding the panel in purpose and impact.
Tierra Briscoe (@yogi.tb) – A trauma-informed yoga instructor and wellness educator who spoke on the importance of mindfulness, healing, and access in underserved communities.
Brendaline Nettey, LCSW-C (@brendanettey | @toherfutureself) – Licensed therapist and founder of To Her Future Self, she shared tools for emotional wellness and the power of intentional reflection.
Brianna Coleman (@brimcoleman | @bookandbrunchbc) – Founder of Book & Brunch, she brought insights on lifestyle, purpose-driven storytelling, and building experiences that celebrate Black women’s voices.
Princess Tommi Baker (@princesstommi) – Digital creator, actress, and founder of Royal Vagina Potions, she inspired the room with her raw honesty, feminine empowerment, and bold authenticity.
This event has been on my heart for a long time—a vision I held quietly while waiting for the right moment to bring it to life. And when June came around, everything just clicked. The timing felt nothing short of divine.
To everyone who showed up, glowing, and spoke life into the room: thank you. You made this dream a reality.
A special thank you goes to our incredible Black-woman owned wellness sponsors who brought so much heart and soul to the event:
Pure Green Dupont — Dr. Tenisha Jones and Krystal Carter sponsored fresh-pressed juices that nourished our bodies and spirits.
The Butterland — Paris and Aaris Pearsall offered natural hair and skincare products thoughtfully made for Black families and created by Black women.
Amor Blooms — Mykaela Ross elevated the experience with stunning floral arrangements and curated floral experiences.
To Her Future Self Journal — Brenda Nettey gifted a tool for reflection and emotional wellness with her inspiring journal.
Book & Brunch — Brianna Coleman hosts luxe brunch experiences in the DMV paired with thoughtful book discussions, bringing culture and community together beautifully.
Each of these partners helped transform the soirée into an immersive experience celebrating wellness, beauty, and Black excellence.
🌱 The Power of Intentional Spaces
Moments like these reaffirm my belief that things fall into place when held with intention. Every smile, every truth spoken, every wellness activation felt aligned—pointing to the deeper reason Ty’s Garden exists.
Wellness gatherings aren’t just about products or ambiance—they're about making sacred space for people to reflect and feel seen. And this one did just that: with grace, alignment, and the perfect amount of soulful energy.
